Overview

The Centre of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) is a non-profit non-governmental regional Organization, enjoying an international legal personality which was created in 1993 under the auspices of His Royal Highness, Prince Talal Ibn Abdulaziz, in response to the desire of a number of Arab governments, local and regional civil organizations, and regional and international institutions to establish a center of academic research and field studies relating to the status of women. ,In addition to collecting data, indicators and statistics on women’s economic, social and political conditions, CAWTAR analyzes and disseminates this important information in order to improve the lives of women in the Arab world.

CAWTAR’s role consists in the participation to the empowerment of woman and endowing her with new skills, providing also data base to help the decision makers transforming evidences into national plans contributing to the improvement of woman position and the reinforcement of her participation at all development planning, implementation and execution levels
