Overview
Andalus Institute for Tolerance and Anti-violence Studies (AITAS) is an independent research institution established in 2004. AITAS works in Egypt and the MENA region to strengthen the values of tolerance and eliminate all forms of discrimination. AITAS is an organization that spreads the culture of tolerance in Egyptian society. It focuses on teaching the younger generation, reforming the media environment, and changing legislation.
AITAS plans to achieve its goals through media monitoring, alternative media development, election and democracy campaigns, and human rights education. AITAS is committed to advocate for pressing human rights issues. It engaged with decision makers to influence the decision-making process in a way that guarantees equal rights for all and ensure the compliance of legislation with the international human rights standards.
