Arab Labor Organization
Overview
One of the specialized organizations operating within the scope of the League of Arab States, the first specialized Arab organization concerned with labor and workers' affairs at the national level. On January 12, 1965, the first conference of Arab Labor Ministers, held in Baghdad, approved the Arab Labor Charter and the draft constitution of the Arab Labor Organization. On January 8, 1970, the fifth conference of Arab Labor Ministers, held in Cairo, issued a decision to declare the establishment of the Arab Labor Organization after the completion of the necessary number of ratifications by member states of the Arab Labor Charter and the organization's constitution. The decision to declare the establishment of the organization came in response to the national trend .
