Self employed independent consultant specialising in design, monitoring and evaluation of food security, agriculture, market development, humanitarian relief, social assistance / protection, climate change adaptation and resilience and cash transfer programming.

Twenty-four years of practical experience in design, management and monitoring and evaluation of relief and development operations including large (>£500m) multi-sectoral and multi-actor programmes. Specialist in design of M&E systems and associated tools and processes and rolling out and institutionalizing systems within stakeholder organizations.

Solid experience in the use and adaptation of a broad range of approaches and tools for assessment and evaluation of projects / programmes, including third party monitoring, results based management and targeted thematic research. High level of proficiency in design and execution of baseline surveys, final evaluations, value chain assessments, use of PRA data collection techniques, quantitative surveys (including nutritional surveys), statistical analysis, data interpretation and writing of reports, learning briefs, etc.. Significant experience in Africa and Asia and of operating with high degree of initiative individually and in remote contexts.
