Amal Association for Women and Development
Overview
Amal pour la femme et le développement (AAFD) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established on April 11, 2002, in Elhajeb, Fez-Meknes region, by a group of young Moroccan women. The mission of the Amal Association for Women and Development is the overall struggle for the respect of human rights and, in particular, women’s human rights and their legal rights. Its objective is to defend and promote women’s human rights and legal rights; struggle for the eradication of all forms of discrimination based on gender, sexuality, religion, age, abilities, ethnicity, nationality, class, or other factors; ensure a strong presence of women's human rights and their legal rights in public policies as well as to contribute to erect a democratic, citizen, strong and autonomous women's movement.
