Overview

HEKS is the relief organization of the Evangelical Churches of Switzerland with headquarters in Zurich and a branch office for French-speaking Switzerland in Lausanne, EPER (Entraide Protestante Suisse). Their mission statement expresses the deep respect for people of all cultures, ethnicities and religions. That's why HEKS helps needy people, regardless of their religious and ethnic affiliation. In its work, the relief organization is oriented towards goals such as justice, peace and the preservation of creation. Among other things, the strategy identifies the thematic priorities for activities abroad: development of rural communities, peacebuilding, church cooperation and humanitarian aid. For the work in Switzerland social integration and advocacy for asylum seekers and the socially disadvantaged are in the center.
