Kuwait Society for Human Rights

Overview

The Kuwait Society for Human Rights is a local, non-governmental, non-profit organization that aims to defend human rights and work by legitimate means and through legal channels to respect and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms for all Kuwaitis and other persons present on Kuwaiti soil. It also aims to work to stop any human rights violations that may occur in Kuwait, regardless of their source. To this end, it cooperates with similar human rights associations and organizations abroad and spreads awareness of the human rights stipulated in the Kuwaiti Constitution and in international human rights conventions, especially the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the two international treaties on political, civil, economic, social and cultural human rights.
