Overview
The Magdi Yacoub Foundation for Heart Diseases and Research - a charitable non-governmental organization registered in Egypt - was founded in 2008 by Dr. Magdi Yacoub. The Foundation for Cardiac Research runs one of the exceptional projects of great importance to the health and well-being of the Egyptian people, which is entirely dependent on donations, the Aswan Heart Center.
The Foundation Mission: Advance basic science and applied research as an integral part of the program and promote biomedical research in Egypt, training a generation of young Egyptian doctors, nurses, scientists and technicians at the highest level of international standards and providing advanced medical services free of charge to Egyptians, especially disadvantaged or less fortunate groups.
The Foundation Vision: To began implementing a large, ambitious and exceptional project of great importance to the health and well-being of individuals in Egypt and the entire region, which is the Magdi Yacoub International Heart Center in Cairo. The new center will advance cardiac care and treatment, as well as expand our training and research and development capacity.
