Akkarouna

Overview

Akkarouna is a Lebanese non-governmental organization founded in 2010, with its main offices based in Akkar and Tripoli, North Lebanon. The organization was established in response to the growing social and economic needs of underserved communities in the region. Over the years, it has positioned itself as a vital actor in promoting social development, particularly in marginalized and rural areas where access to resources and opportunities is limited.

Akkarouna focuses on several key areas, including women’s empowerment, education, youth development, community resilience, and humanitarian aid. One of its central missions is to create sustainable opportunities for women through vocational training, digital skills development, and small business support. By equipping women with practical and marketable skills, Akkarouna aims to strengthen their economic independence and societal participation.
