Yabous Cultural Centre

Overview

Yabous Cultural Centre is a Palestinian cultural institution based in East Jerusalem. It was founded in 1995 with the goal of promoting and preserving Palestinian culture through various artistic and cultural activities. The centre hosts concerts, film screenings, art exhibitions, and theatrical performances, as well as workshops and lectures that focus on Palestinian heritage and contemporary issues. Yabous Cultural Centre plays a significant role in enriching the cultural life of Palestinians in Jerusalem, despite challenges posed by political and logistical constraints. It is housed in a historic building that was renovated to serve as a vibrant cultural hub for the local community. The centre is named after "Yabous," the ancient Jebusite name for Jerusalem.
