Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction
Overview
The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) is an international alliance that works to strengthen the resilience of communities facing disasters and climate-related risks. Established in 2007, GNDR connects over 1,500 civil society organisations across more than 120 countries, creating a platform for local voices to influence global disaster risk reduction and resilience policies. The organization focuses on promoting locally led action, amplifying community perspectives, and ensuring that development and humanitarian initiatives effectively address the realities of people most at risk. GNDR operates through regional and national focal points, including in several MENA countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq, where it supports capacity-building, advocacy, and knowledge-sharing among local actors.
