KIVA Micro-Funds

Overview

Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 in San Francisco, with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive, with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. They support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities. Kiva helping to raise funds, through their web site, to be used as microloans to serve the needs of poor, vulnerable and/or excluded population without access to traditional banking systems. KIVA Loans are implemented and delivered through Field Partners who work with their local community members. Field Partners are responsible for screening borrowers, disbursing loans and collecting repayments to finally re-pay the original KIVA loan.
