Thea L. Khoury
About
My name is Théa L Khoury. I am a Human Rights advocate and nonprofit professional with over a decade of experience working with diverse groups across the MENA Region.
Throughout my career, I have developed ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems for various nonprofit organizations, including comprehensive workflows, documented SOPs, and system tools. I led and participated in evaluating these systems through management audits, followed by the development and oversight of corrective actions. In 2019, I was the owner and lead of projects’ Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning processes with a budget of over $2.5 million.
I represented organizations throughout my career from the inception and development of multi-million-dollar programs; to playing a leading role in external communications and the development of essential learning resources for these projects. I worked within dynamic teams to develop and implement participatory grant-making mechanisms for Gender and Bodily Rights groups working across the MENA; in the past three years, I managed and oversaw the disbursement of $354,000 through 57 small grants. I led the organizational capacity evaluations of 39 partners working in eight countries across the MENA region and supported them with the development and implementation of organizational development plans. I worked closely with these groups to reach the set goals through coaching and technical assistance mechanisms.
I serve as an expert reviewer on various grant-making committees targeted at diverse Gender and Bodily Rights groups programming within the MENA Region. I have experience working within the contexts of Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen. I speak Arabic and English and have basic French proficiency.
I currently manage a participatory consulting community of experts and changemakers at Linear Lines, working from and for the MENA Region.
My work is centered around the make-no-harm approach; I am experienced in developing holistic security plans to ensure the safety and security of all stakeholders involved in implemented programs. My work is led by feminist values, focusing on intentionality and participatory development.
