As a highly qualified professional with expertise in development and humanitarian sectors, I bring a diverse range of skills and experience that make me an ideal candidate for consultancy services. With a strong background in project management, communication and advocacy, strategic planning, policy design, and resource mobilization, I am well-equipped to contribute to the success of development and humanitarian initiatives.
In particular, my specialized knowledge in various areas related to adolescents and youth, including sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender issues, comprehensive sexuality education, mental health, youth peace and security, humanitarian action, civic engagement, and leadership, positions me as a valuable asset in driving positive change and improving outcomes for young people in these sectors.
During my career, I have successfully led and implemented projects aimed at increasing access to sexual and reproductive health services and information for adolescents and youth. One notable accomplishment was leading the Generation Unlimited Youth Challenge in partnership between UNICEF and UNFPA in Palestine, which showcased my ability to foster collaboration and drive impactful outcomes.
In addition to my expertise in social norms and behavioral change communications, I possess strong storytelling skills, which have proven effective in influencing stakeholders and driving positive change. I have successfully designed and scaled up innovative solutions and approaches using human-centricity and design thinking methodologies. For example, I developed a digital character to enhance adolescents' access to comprehensive sexuality education, showcasing my ability to leverage technology for social impact.
In my most recent role as Innovation and Disability Analyst at UNFPA in Somalia, I have supported the implementation of innovation and youth projects, with a focus on strengthening knowledge management and showcasing UNFPA's impact. I have effectively strategized communication objectives and messaging, using human interest stories to engage internal and external audiences. Furthermore, I have played a crucial role in building a culture of innovation by developing innovative tools and techniques, as well as providing capacity-building on innovation and disability inclusion to UNFPA staff and implementing partners. I have also driven new ventures to potentially scale up and advance towards achieving transformative results for UNFPA.
During my tenure as a Programme and Communications Officer at UNFPA in Palestine, I have led the identification and formulation of country programs and projects related to adolescents and youth, designed comprehensive project proposals. I have successfully managed the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of adolescent and youth programs, ensuring their success and impact. Additionally, I have been actively involved in resource mobilization, establishing a strong network of donors and strategic partners and conducting thorough political and environmental analyses to develop proposals and concept notes. Advocacy and policy dialogue have been key components of my work, as I have engaged with the government and relevant stakeholders to advance the youth agenda and rights in Palestine.
Within the realm of youth peace and security and youth humanitarian actions, I have demonstrated my ability to develop strategies and coalitions for the implementation of key frameworks, such as UNSCR 2250 and the compact for young people in humanitarian action. As a co-chair of the UN Theme Group on Young People, I have actively participated in interagency and coordination meetings, collaborating with UN agencies and stakeholders to drive collective impact.
My expertise extends to providing technical advice to government counterparts and implementing partners in programming and developing local policies and strategies related to adolescents and youth.
