Earth for sustainable development Foundation

Overview

Earth’s Climate for Sustainable Development Foundation (EC4SDF), originally established in 2017 under the name GEMEZA—named after the ancient sycamore tree significant in Egyptian heritage—is a registered non-profit organization under Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity (registration no. 11485 of 2022, under Law 149/2019). In 2022, GEMEZA became an official program within EC4SDF, continuing its focus on climate justice for children.

The foundation’s vision is to empower communities to live in a clean, safe environment while advancing sustainable development. Its mission centers on generating scientific knowledge, fostering awareness, and advocating for fair climate action that improves livelihoods and supports social and economic well-being. EC4SDF’s approach is guided by its 2ICE framework—Inform, Consult, Involve, Collaborate, Empower—as well as a Theory of Change model.
