Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT)
Overview
The Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) is a specialized institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), established in 1984 following a resolution adopted at the OIC Summit in 1981. Headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, the ICDT is mandated to promote trade and investment among the 57 OIC Member States across the Arab world, Africa, and Asia.
The core mission of ICDT is to enhance intra-OIC trade and economic cooperation. It does so by providing trade information and analysis, organizing trade fairs and exhibitions, supporting investment promotion, delivering technical assistance and training, and leading trade negotiations under OIC frameworks such as the Trade Preferential System (TPS-OIC). It also supports OIC member states in aligning with international trade norms, including WTO agreements.
