Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Romania
Overview
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania (MAE) is the central institution responsible for managing the country’s foreign policy and representing Romania abroad. It oversees Romania’s diplomatic missions and consulates, develops bilateral and multilateral relations, and promotes Romania’s interests within international organizations such as the EU, UN, and NATO. The ministry works on advancing political, economic, cultural, and security cooperation, protecting Romanian citizens overseas, and strengthening Romania’s global partnerships. While its mandate is global, the MAE also operates in the MENA region through embassies, consulates, and initiatives focused on diplomacy, economic ties, and humanitarian engagement.
