Global Health Council

Overview

The Global Health Council (GHC) is a U.S.-based advocacy and membership organization headquartered in Washington, D.C., dedicated to advancing global health equity and policy. Rather than implementing field-level health projects, GHC focuses on advocacy, coordination, and capacity-building for organizations working in global health. It unites a wide network of members—including NGOs, academic institutions, private sector actors, and foundations—to influence health policy, promote collaboration, and amplify the voices of civil society. Through initiatives like the AIM (Advocacy in Motion) Grants, GHC provides funding and mentorship to civil society organizations, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, to strengthen their advocacy efforts. The council also organizes working groups, policy dialogues, and global forums on issues such as health security, universal health coverage, and health system strengthening. Overall, GHC acts as a bridge between practitioners, policymakers, and advocates to improve global health outcomes rather than serving as a direct project implementer.
