Overview
The Dr. Haidar Abdel Shafi Center for Culture and Development (HCCD) is an independent, non-profit Palestinian organization founded in 2014 by a group of activists, intellectuals, and community leaders in Gaza. The Center draws its vision from the life and legacy of Dr. Haidar Abdel Shafi – a national figure, physician, and champion of justice – and works to continue his work in supporting human rights, promoting social responsibility, and establishing the principles of democratic participation. The Center strives to cultivate a culture of civic engagement, tolerance, and non-violence, with a particular focus on supporting marginalized groups, especially women and youth.
