The Government of the Czech Republic has announced a new grant initiative under the Reconstruction Program of the Czech Republic in the Middle East for the period 2025–2027, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to humanitarian aid and sustainable development in Syria.
Through the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus, the program invites local Syrian organizations to submit project proposals under the Tied Financial Donation (VPD) mechanism — a funding system that supports reconstruction and development initiatives while requiring the participation of Czech companies as suppliers.
Projects may be awarded grants of up to 5 million or 10 million Czech Koruna (approximately USD 240,000 – 480,000) depending on their size, scope, and anticipated impact. The initiative targets key sectors essential to Syria’s recovery, including infrastructure rehabilitation, access to essential public services, and local economic revitalization.
This program not only aims to strengthen local resilience and restore vital community systems but also enhances cooperation between Syrian beneficiaries and Czech partners, ensuring accountability, transparency, and mutual benefit. Interested organizations are required to submit both a printed and digital version of their Project Identification Form in English, duly signed and stamped by the Syrian applicant.
