Overview
The United Nations Department for Safety and Security (UNDSS) is the central UN body responsible for ensuring the safety and security of UN personnel, operations, and premises worldwide. It was established in 2005 following the recommendations of the UN Security Management System (UNSMS) to strengthen the organization’s ability to protect its staff and assets, especially in high-risk environments.
