In 2025, Morocco had successfully prevented more than 73,000 irregular migration attempts, showing Morocco is actively working to stop crossings into Europe by maintaining strong border control measures. This was slightly less than amounts recorded in the previous year. (.)

Since 2025, more than 300 smuggling organizations were dismantled, indicating there continues to be a commitment to combating these organized migration networks. Thousands of migrants have also been rescued from the sea and others chose to return home to their country of origin.

As decreased attempts have occurred, there is still an increase in pressure to migrate. Many migrants now use alternate routes through West Africa and the southern Mediterranean instead of crossing through Morocco.

This shows that while borders are being secured, migration from Africa to Europe will continue, as long as conflicts, lack of job opportunities, and general poor living conditions exist within the area.
