L`Arche International

Overview

L'Arche is an international non-profit federation founded in 1964 in France that brings together people with and without intellectual disabilities to live, work, and build community life together. Headquartered in Paris, it operates through more than 150 communities across dozens of countries worldwide, promoting inclusion, dignity, and mutual relationships as the foundation of a more humane society.

The organization’s core mission is to make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities through shared life and relationships that transform both those receiving support and those providing it. Rather than focusing only on care services, L’Arche emphasizes community living, where members share daily activities, responsibilities, and decision-making, fostering belonging, equality, and personal growth.
