Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN) is a UK-registered charity focused on nature conservation. Founded in 1993 by Edward Whitley OBE, WFN has dedicated over £26 million to support grassroots conservation leaders in the Global South, impacting over 220 leaders across 80 countries. The organization is guided by a Board of Trustees and has HRH The Princess Royal as its patron. WFN's primary service includes providing financial grants, training, and professional recognition to conservationists. Its flagship initiative, the Whitley Awards, offers £40,000 in project funding to selected grassroots leaders, with additional opportunities for expansion grants and long-term support. WFN emphasizes collaboration with local communities to promote biodiversity and sustainable practices, aiming to create a future where both wildlife and people thrive.
