The EU has provided an amount of €1.5 billion to Egypt under a large-scale assistance program. The amount is the second part of the overall €4 billion assistance program that has been approved by the European Commission after confirming Egypt’s compliance with political and economic requirements of the program.

This amount of money will help the country boost public spending, create jobs, and protect the environment.

It will also support financial measures with the IMF, which the country has already been undertaking.

EU leaders say Egypt is a very important partner in the region. This financial help is part of a bigger €7.4 billion partnership package running from 2024 to 2027 to boost Egypt's growth and green energy
