The Network of Agroecological Initiatives in Morocco (RIAM)
Overview
The Réseau des Initiatives Agroécologiques au Maroc (RIAM) is a Moroccan civil-society network focused on promoting agroecology and sustainable food systems. Established in 2013 and formally constituted as an association in 2015, it brings together farmers, cooperatives, civil-society organizations, researchers, consumers, and other actors working on agroecological transition. Its activities include training and capacity building, knowledge exchange, support to agroecological initiatives, biodiversity and seed conservation, urban agriculture, agrotourism, commercialization, research, and advocacy. RIAM also works to strengthen community autonomy, food sovereignty, environmental protection, and climate resilience.
