Diaspora Emergency Action and Coordination (DEMAC)
Overview
Since 2015, the mission at DEMAC is to improve coordination and communication among diaspora organizations involved in humanitarian assistance and between diaspora organizations, local actors and institutional humanitarian actors. We further aim to increase visibility and engagement for diaspora organizations in the humanitarian system through evidence based research, workshops, conferences and networking about diaspora engagement in humanitarian crises around the world. DEMAC is part of the Danish Refugee Council. Funded by diverse donors, such as DANIDA, H2H Network, Dutch MFA, USAID, etc. and have been working with IOM, GIZ and other institutions to enhance knowledge around diaspora humanitarian engagement.
