Local Development Research Institute
Overview
The Local Development Research Institute (LDRI) is a nonprofit think tank based in Nairobi, Kenya. Established in 2015, it focuses on supporting African Union member states in achieving equitable local development. LDRI aims to contribute to efforts to end extreme poverty, hunger, and reduce inequalities across Africa. LDRI serves as a regional hub for Sub-Saharan Africa, providing policy support and implementation assistance to African governments. The institute emphasizes data-driven decision-making and has coordinated the Sub-Saharan Africa component of the Global Data Barometer. It also publishes research and informational content to support its mission
