Arab Center for Agricultural Development
Overview
Arab Center for Agricultural Development- ACAD is a Palestinian non-governmental development-leading model that contributes to building an effective agricultural rural community that relies on its capacities, identifies its future by itself and lives with dignity in the democratic and independent State of Palestine. ACAD contributes to the development of the agricultural rural sector through building partnerships based on complementarity and professionalism and involvement of target groups including marginalized farmers and rural people especially women and youth. ACAD supports initiatives that encourage generation of job opportunities, capacity building and development of the agricultural and productive infrastructure and facilitates finance opportunities to establish small enterprises.
ACAD is specialized in Micro-Credit and offers Business Support Services to the poor and low-income Palestinian producers. The main objective of the center is to promote self-sustaining employment and income generation in the agricultural sector and rural areas and to participate in building a strong Palestinian economy through financing micro-enterprises, and to empower farmers in order to guarantee their rights.
ACAD’s Strategic Objectives
- Capacity building of farmers and cooperatives to improve their production and economic situation and defend their individual and collective rights.
- Contribution to improvement of food security and preservation of environment in Palestine.
- Contribution to provision of emergency and relief support and development of areas suffering from disasters and Area “C”.
- Working on the Center’s sustainability and developing its programs in service of the agricultural and rural sector.
