Zenata Development Company (SAZ)
Overview
The Société d’Aménagement Zenata (SAZ), a subsidiary of Groupe Caisse de Dépôts et de Gestion (CDG), is responsible for the overall design and development of the Éco-Cité Zenata, a city of all enthusiasms. It is also responsible for the overall coherence of the project, its development and its implementation. Halfway between Casablanca and Rabat, the Eco-Cité Zenata aims to create a new urban center capable of meeting the challenges related to the emergence of the middle class. A city of 1,830 ha, it offers high value-added services for Morocco and the region, with a view to participating in their development through 4 major driving activities: an integrated medical city, an international university campus, a large-scale shopping and leisure center and a logistics hub.
In addition to economic development, the Zenata Eco-City is based on innovative concepts that combine urbanization with nature and promote social and functional diversity to serve the current and future community. In summary, it was co-designed based on the 3 pillars of sustainable development: environmental, social and economic. The eco-design approach is now crystallized in an Eco-City Framework that defines 6 founding principles broken down into 16 themes identifying objectives and concrete actions that are evaluated according to performance indicators for strategic management.
This Framework inspired the Eco-City Label (designed by the Zenata Development Company and Cerway-(HQE(TM) certifier), an integrated and systemic model adaptable to countries in the South.
