Overview
Their STEM educational initiative, “Genius”, offers many activities that get children and young people enthusiastic about technology topics. Genius also helps teachers make their classes varied and future-oriented by offering them practice-related instructional materials, interactive technology workshops and advanced training courses. The Daimler and Benz Foundation provides support for socially-relevant, interdisciplinary research projects. The selection process reflects the Foundation's desire to concentrate on specific areas that they believe will produce results with far-reaching consequences for the future.Using its €3 million yearly operating budget, the Foundation is able to provide sizable resources for international research. Its endowment of €125 million makes the Daimler and Benz Foundation one of the largest, actively-operating foundations in Germany. The Daimler and Benz Foundation has created a forum where leaders in the natural and social sciences can present and discuss their ideas.
