Overview

The Arab Studies Institute (ASI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to research, publishing, and educational initiatives focused on the Arab world. Established in 1992, ASI serves as an umbrella organization for several subsidiary projects, including the Arab Studies Journal, Jadaliyya, Quilting Point, the Forum on Arab and Muslim Affairs (FAMA), and Tadween Publishing. These entities collectively aim to produce and disseminate critical knowledge on the Middle East through various media, such as scholarly journals, online magazines, documentaries, and books. ASI collaborates with academic institutions like the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University and has received support from organizations such as the Open Society Foundations.
