Education Above All

Overview

Education Above All (EAA), based in Doha Qatar, is founded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser in November 2012. Its aim is to build a global movement that contributes to human, social and economic development through the provision of quality education. With a particular focus on those affected by poverty, conflict and disaster, it champions the needs of children, youth and women to empower them to become active members of their communities.

EAA acts as an umbrella organization for several programmes, which specialize in providing educational opportunities to communities stricken by poverty or crisis. The foundation began operating in 2013, as a centralized home for stand-alone programmes Educate A Child (operating since 2012), Al Fakhoora and Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict (both operating since 2009). A pilot project, Kakuma, also falls under its remit. Shared resources and infrastructure have resulted in optimized output within the streamlined organization.
