Finnish Environment Institute

Overview

Finnish Environment Institute (also known as SYKE, after the Finnish acronym Suomen ympäristökeskus) is a research institute, and a centre for environmental expertise.

SYKE forms part of Finland's national environmental administration, and mainly operates under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment, although the Institute's work related to water resources is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. We have the skills, ambition and courage to open new avenues for improving the environment.
