Overview

Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland concentrates on foreign and security policy, trade policy and development policy as well as on significant foreign policy issues and international relations in general. The primary goal of Finland’s development policy is eradication of poverty and promotion of development that is ecologically, socially and economically sustainable, in accordance with the Millennium Development Goals.

Finland gives particular emphasis to climate and environmental issues, crisis prevention and support for peace processes as well as support for the private sector and production.
