Overview
L'Agence de l'Oriental is a Moroccan public institution focused on the socio-economic development of the Oriental region, located in the northeastern part of Morocco. It was established in 2006 as part of a royal initiative to address regional disparities and promote inclusive growth in this historically underserved area. The Oriental Agency operates in all the municipalities of the Oujda-Angad Prefecture and the Provinces of Nador, Berkane, Taourirt, Jerada, Driouch, Guercif and Figuig. The creation of the Agency is in line with the objective of placing the Region in a process of accelerating its economic, social, cultural and human development. The Oriental Agency, whose creation was decided by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, is a public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy. It is placed under the supervision of the Head of Government.
