Overview

In order to achieve human and social development in the State of Qatar, the Social Development Center "Nama" was established in 1996. It is considered one of the oldest civil society organizations in the country, with the aim of providing a stimulating environment that contributes to investing the latent energies and creative capabilities of youth, and meeting their needs and aspirations to be partners in civil work, and in exploring the best opportunities and innovation to lead the renaissance of their societies. The center has been operating since 2013 under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, which in turn is affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. "Qatar National Vision has emphasized the importance of empowering youth as a key focus. The third Qatar Human Development Report focused on understanding the context, challenges and opportunities facing Qatari youth, and overcoming obstacles; so that they are able to contribute to Qatar’s journey towards a knowledge economy; which requires addressing the problems, issues, aspirations and challenges facing youth. Youth in the age groups from 13 to 30 Small and micro-entrepreneurs from 18 to 45 Our vision: A leading institution for empowered and effective youth. Our mission: In line with the mission of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, we contribute to expanding the options available to youth, building their capacities, and empowering them in the State of Qatar.
