Overview
Proparco is a subsidiary of the AFD dedicated to the private sector working to promote sustainable development in economic, social and environmental matters. Proparco participates in the financing and support of companies and financial institutions in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Its action focuses on the key sectors of development: infrastructures with a focus on renewable energies, agro-industry, financial institutions, health, education.
Proparco finances companies whose activity contributes to the creation of jobs and decent incomes, the supply of essential goods and services, the fight against climate change, care, education and vocational training . It also funds initiatives for security and energy transition in the region, including through the renewable energy. Proparco’s mandate is to foster private investment in emerging and developing economies with the aim of supporting growth and sustainability.
