Overview
TÜBİTAK founded in 1963, is the leading agency for management, funding and conduct of research in Turkey. It is a governmental body which operates under the fold of the Prime Ministry with adequate administrative and financial autonomy.
TÜBİTAK supports the academic and industrial research development studies and innovations, conducts Research-Technology-Development studies in line with national priorities. In addition to operating functions of Ge institutes, it determines the science and technology policies of Turkey and publishes books and magazines to increase this awareness in every segment of the society. The academic activities of scientists at home and abroad are supported and encouraged by scholarships and awards, and the projects of the universities, public institutions and industry are funded to increase the competitiveness of the country.
