UK Oman Digital Hub
Overview
The UK Oman Digital Hub is a venture established by the British Embassy in Muscat in partnership with Oman’s Ministry of Technology and Communications (formerly Oman's Information Technology Authority). This is a key deliverable under the Comprehensive Agreement on Enduring Friendship, signed by the UK and Oman in May 2019. They aim to
- Establish the UK as a principal digital partner in Oman by using their projects to share expertise across the country.
- Increase the digital skill base across Oman, raising ambition and aspiration – with a focus on young people who are 11-18 years old.
- Encourage digital innovation and entrepreneurship to create more economic opportunities for Oman and the UK, by helping to develop a tech-friendly environment in Oman.
- Secure economic and educational gains by enhancing cyber-security skills and capability, establishing Oman as a region-leader.
- Act as a focal point for UK-Oman digital policy development and coordination, knowledge transfer and digital best practice.
