Ahmed Alsultan
About
I am a development professional with over 10 years of experience in project management, policy dialogue, and program implementation in Iraq, working with international organizations including UNICEF, UNDP, IOM, and the European Union. My background combines technical expertise, operational delivery, and stakeholder engagement across sectors such as education, climate resilience, governance, and community development.
I have extensive experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. In my current role as Project Manager for the EU-funded Iraqi Policy Dialogue, I coordinate high-level engagement with government institutions, development partners, and civil society, ensuring alignment with national priorities and donor requirements. I have a strong track record in organizing consultations, facilitating policy discussions, and producing high-quality analytical and knowledge products.
My technical skills include monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, and reporting using systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, SAP, and UN ATLAS. I am experienced in tracking project performance, managing datasets, and supporting evidence-based decision-making. I have also contributed to project closeout processes, ensuring compliance with administrative, financial, and reporting requirements.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s in Development Management, complemented by ongoing studies in Development Policies and Practices, I bring a strong analytical foundation and a deep understanding of development challenges in fragile contexts. My work is driven by a commitment to inclusive development, climate resilience, and improving livelihoods, particularly for vulnerable communities in Iraq.
I am highly adaptable, culturally sensitive, and experienced in working in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams, both in-person and remotely. I bring strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver results under pressure and in complex environments.
