- Conflict Resolution & Mediation — Certified mediator with 25+ years of facilitation experience across national dialogues, civil wars, tribal disputes, and post-war reconciliation. Clients include governments, UN agencies, military, religious organisations, NGOs, IDPs and refugees across 4 continents.
- Programme Management & Leadership — Led complex multi-million dollar programmes as Team Leader (EU-funded South Sudan, €800K), Project Manager (UNDP Lebanon), and Peace Portfolio Manager (UNDP Sudan, $50M budget), managing teams, partners, donor compliance and financial reporting.
- MENA Regional Expertise — Deep country-specific experience across Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan, South Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. In Syria, engaged with CSOs across all governorates including current co-development of an Oxford University transitional justice research study. In Iraq, two decades of engagement including GIZ/Ambero Lead Trainer in Ninewa Province (2022–2024). - Training & Capacity Building — Designed and delivered 100+ workshops in Arabic and English across 20+ countries for UN staff, government officials, security forces, CSO leaders and youth, applying adult learning principles across conflict analysis, mediation, social cohesion and do-no-harm methodologies.
- Business Development & Research — Contributed to successful proposals for GIZ, EU and UNDP; produced research for Cordaid, KfW and the Carter Center, including the memo used by President Carter to mediate in the Darfur crisis. Experienced in MEL, donor reporting and grants management across EU, UN, USAID, FCO and SDC standards.
- Academic Credentials — MA in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding (Eastern Mennonite University, USA); MA and BA in Political Science (AUB); negotiation training at Harvard and USIP. Three-time Fulbright recipient. Native Arabic, fluent English.
