About
Heba Shoaib is an Urban Development Expert and Assistant Professor of Architecture and Urban Design with over 20 years of experience in the fields of urban development, architecture, and urban design. She has collaborated with international agencies including UNHCR, UN-Women, UNDP, UNESCO, UN-Habitat, and GIZ. Heba is currently the Urban Studies and Research Unit Manager at Takween Integrated Community Development in Egypt. She is also an adjunct assistant professor at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and Nile University. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Design and Community Development from Cairo University (2015) and recently completed a professional development fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow (2023–2024). Her work focuses on urban upgrading, planning and design, heritage conservation and management, climate resilience, and gender-inclusive urbanism.
