Louise Sarant

I am a food security consultant and a longtime science and environment reporter based in Cairo. Over the past 12 years, I've written hundreds of stories across the Middle East and North Africa for the likes of Nature magazine, while also establishing Egypt's first environmental news team. As a consultant, I've conducted extensive research on everything from grey water re-use to revamping protected areas, and boosting cultivation of strategic crops for UNDP, ICARDA, the EU, IWMI and other iNGOs. I frequently present at international conferences and Middle Eastern universities. I speak fluent French, English, and spoken Arabic.
