Maria Ghazzaoui
About
I am an independent consultant in funding and business development, program design, monitoring and evaluation, gender, and facilitation, working in the Middle East and Africa. My passion is using evidence, evidence-based design, decision-making, and learning, to uphold the rights of marginalized populations.
I bring over 15 years of experience in the international development sector, in diverse areas such as civil society and citizen engagement, gender equality and women's rights, agriculture, health, youth employment and entrepreneurship, and support to small and medium sized businesses. I also have experience in the humanitarian sector, having worked in Lebanon's refugee response in protection, cash and vouchers, water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion (WaSH).
I have so far had the privilege to collaborate with a variety of clients such as Oxfam, CARE International, Relief International, Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation, UN Women, and others.
In my consulting practice, I draw from a rich background of prior full-time roles in Lebanon and Canada - with Oxfam, UN Women, and Global Affairs Canada (formerly The Canadian International Development Agency).
I am a native speaker of Arabic, and fluent in English and French.
I welcome the opportunity to collaborate with consultants, consulting firms, international non-governmental and local civil society organizations. Please feel free to reach out if my experience and expertise are of service to your mission.
