Olivia Lazard

As director of Peace in Design Consulting Ltd, and as independent consultant specialised in the political-economic analysis of conflicts, stabilization and peacebuilding interventions, Olivia conducts field missions such as impact evaluations, research and programmatic/strategic support in conflict and post-conflict zones for actors involved in complex emergencies and protracted conflicts. Most recently, she has been working on research regarding the links between livelihoods, displacement and conflict in the Middle East, as well as a PVE national strategy in the Central African Republic. In parallel, she is also working on designing environmental peacebuilding and mediation approaches so as to simultaneously work on environmental resource regeneration, migration stabilization and multi-track conflict mediation. Her focus on gender and youth issues enables her to provide differentiated analysis to her clients and innovative solutions through the use of participatory methodologies. Her current focus areas are: political economy of conflicts, displacement, mixed migration, humanitarian interventions, integrated programming between PB, livelihoods regeneration, environmental regeneration and institutional governance, gender and youth, as well as mediation of conflicts occurring over natural and economic resources. Her experience is grounded in solid field experience in complex emergencies, working with public and private sector actors.
