Raghda El Ebrashi

Dr. Raghda El Ebrashi is currently an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at the German University in Cairo (GUC) and instructor of strategic management at the American University in Cairo (AUC). She earned her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in 2004 from the American University in Cairo (AUC), and acquired her Master Degree in Professional Development from the AUC as well in 2006. She acquired her PhD in Strategic Management from the GUC in 2010. Raghda is a consultant and trainer for major Cement companies, Banks, Dairy companies, Agri-businesses, FMCGs, consumer electronics, and start-ups on strategic management issues related to company restructuring, functional and business integration, value chain partnerships, business model development and analysis, corporate social responsibility, and inclusive business. Raghda is also a consultant for the government in various public projects, and she has served in various assignments with national and international donors and agencies on issues related to entrepreneurship, research, and curriculum development.

Raghda is the Founder and Chairperson of Alashanek ya Balady Association for Sustainable Development (AYB-SD), which is one of the biggest youth NGOs in Egypt. She also served as a board member in the International Youth Foundation in the US from 2010 and till 2013. In 2007, Raghda was awarded from World Business Magazine in London and Shell International the award of “35 under 35” for being one of the 35 influential international social entrepreneurs under the age of 35. In addition, in 2007 as well, Raghda was selected and awarded from the UNDP and Microsoft in Malaysia for being one of the influential 100 global young social entrepreneurs. In 2008, Raghda won the YouthActionNet Fellowship from the United States as being the first Egyptian to win this award. In 2009, she won Synergos fellowship in the United States for being an Arab World Social Innovator, and also won the King Abdullah Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement in the same year in Jordan. In 2010, Raghda became a Young Global Leader (YGL) selected by the Schwab Foundation and the World Economic Forum, and she was selected as an Ashoka Fellow in the same year. Last but not least, she was awarded and recognized by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for her community development efforts in December 2016.
