The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Egypt and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) have launched the Green Link Task Force. The new platform aims to bring together different partners to support Egypt's green economy and speed up the country's green transition.
The Green Link Initiative was launched at a roundtable that brought together government representatives, financial institutions, universities, civil society organisations and other partners. The initiative aims to strengthen cooperation and support the growth of green entrepreneurs.
The Green Link Task Force will support small and medium-sized businesses by encouraging innovation, sharing knowledge, strengthening partnerships and connecting organisations working on climate action and sustainable development.
According to MSMEDA, green businesses play an important role in creating jobs, supporting Egypt's economic growth and helping achieve the country's climate goals. The agency also reaffirmed its commitment to helping entrepreneurs adopt more sustainable business practices.
UNDP Egypt said the new platform will help turn ideas into real results by bringing partners together and creating more opportunities for green businesses. The initiative also supports Egypt Vision 2030 and the country's long-term sustainable development plans
