The Asfari Foundation partners with local and international implementing partners to design and deliver empowerment projects supporting Syrians, Lebanese and Palestinian youth who face the many reasons of poverty and suffer of being refugees, all through increasing access to quality education opportunities and in building a resilient civil society organizations.

The Asfari Foundation is a British grant-making charity supporting projects and initiatives that aim at strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) resilience in one hand while empowering young people through increased access to quality education opportunities on the other. The foundation supports projects in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and the UK of the following three programs

  • Civil Society 
  • Youth Empowerment
  • Relief and Emergency

The Asfari Foundation provided grants of 4-4.5 Million £ to over 50 capable organizations which do understand local needs, able to find root causes and can propose what may be useful ways to address them. Grant size ranges from £50,000 to £100,000 per year over three years, with 25% of each grant dedicated to organisational and staff capacity building activities.

The foundation’s Call for Applications are released twice in the year (Spring and Autumn). Those who submit successful concept notes will be asked to develop a full application later on to be reviewed for award.

The foundation’s educational scholarship program aims at providing underprivileged Youth aged 16-24 years-old from Syria, Lebanon and Palestine either due to reasons of poverty or due to their refugee status access to quality education opportunities at the secondary (9-12 grade) or tertiary education including higher and vocational training. Access to such much-needed opportunities improves youth's futures and those for their communities.

The foundation supports the following additional developmental themes:

  • Refugees’ protection, social and community cohesion, integration and livelihoods
  • Civil Society Organizations’ resilience
  • Good citizenship, civic and community development
  • Conflict resolution or reconciliation
  • Education systems effectiveness and accountability
  • The creation of decent employment opportunities
  • Entrepreneurship projects (business or social)

The Asfari foundation leverages its position, networks and resources to provide Syrian, Palestinian and Lebanese Youth with quality education opportunities necessary for them to move into successful adulthood.
