The European commission has announced a budget of €1.9 billion for humanitarian aid that will be used efficiently to help millions globally. The EU will supply major necessities , such as food, healthcare, and shelter and subsequently other major donors reduce their spending as well.

During the Davos summit, Commissioner Hadja Lahbib presented the plan and urged private companies to assist in filling the funding shortfall.

The most unstable areas of the world will receive a significant amount of the funding. While €448 million will be used to support the Middle East, particularly Gaza, Yemen, and Syria, more than €557 million is going to Africa.

Beyond immediate local aid, the EU is reserving over €415 million for sudden disasters like earthquakes or floods. This money allows the Emergency Response Coordination Centre to deploy help instantly anywhere in the world. The goal is to maintain a steady supply chain so that life-saving resources reach those in need without delay.
